The left thigh of Goddess Sati is said to have fallen at Jaintia Shaktipeeth. Here, Devi is worshiped in the form of Maa Jayanti and the protecting Bhairav is worshipped as Kramadeeshwar or Kramadhesh.

No mention of Jaintia Shaktipeeth is found in Devi Bhagwata or in the Kalika Puran. However, according to the Pithanirnay Tantra, Tantra Churamani and Shiva Charitra, Jaintia Is considered a Shaktipeeth.

Jaintia Shaktipeeth Bangladesh Shaktipeeth | Bangladesh Shaktipeeth tour from Kolkata

There are differences of opinion as regards the exact location of this Shaktipeeth. Based on most presented manuscripts and facts it is situated in Jaintiapur upazila, Bangladesh, which was previously the capital of Jaintia hills tribe kingdom, which became the Jaintia hills district of Meghalaya, India, excluding Jaintiapur. However, some people say that it is the Nartiang Durga temple which is the real Jayanti Shaktipeeth, though there is shortage of corroborating evidences. Actually, there are two places, one in Bangladesh and the other in India which are believed to be the Jaintia Shaktipeeth.
